COLOR AND DESIGN IN 2D AND 3D DIMENSION

SPECTRUM

WHAT IS SPECTRUM

A spectral color is a color that is evoked by a single wavelength of light in the visible spectrum, or by a relatively narrow band of wavelengths. Every wavelength of light is perceive as a spectral color, in a continuous spectrum. The color of sufficiently close wavelengths are indistinguishable.

The spectrum is often divided up into named colors, through any division is somewhat arbitrary and the spectrum is continuous. The traditional color include red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and violet.

HOW WE PERCEIVE COLOR

Technically speaking, color are the way our brain, by use of our eyes, interprets electromagnetic radiation of a wavelength within the visible spectrum. Visible light lies between 400 and 700 nano meters.

The difference wavelength are seen as different color, as in the spectrum below. You seea spectrum like this everything you see a rainbow.

Traditionally the spectrum is divided into seven separate band. The first person to really define this was Newton. Some  people believe that he include the color indigo only to make seven steps to match the number of notes in major musical scale.

COLOR AND DESIGN IN 2D AND 3D DIMENSION

EMOTION BOX

In this task I need to create the emotion box that is automata. When you google it and see it, it look like easy to make and maybe some of you can said that it only take a short time to finish it. Yes it true, but the emotion box you need to insert the environment and also the feel of Mantin on it and I must make it big.

Therefor I take my game and also the 3D environment as the reference for me to make the automata. Other than that I also print out the mario automata as the referents for me to makemy character in the automata look alive. This is my automata that I manage to finish it.

MONOCHROME

Monochrome is a phrase often associated with older computer system monitors. Monitors, for example, can be monochrome, grayscale or color. Monochrome monitors actually use two colors, one for the display image (the foreground) and one for the background.

Graphic and digital images can also be monochrome, grayscale, or color. In photography a monochromatic image is usually in the form of a black and white photograph, which can be produced using black and white film or by removing colors in post-production.
In this task I need to make a monochrome base on the image that I get from Mantin. I need to arrange it according to the monochrome scale that is from the actual color to bright or dark. I need to find 8 image for each of the color that we already choose.

This is the image of the monochrome color that I have made. I choose red color to print it out and use it at the exhibition day.

COLOR AND DESIGN IN 2D AND 3D DIMENSION

TASK 1 : RAINBOW COLOR

Colour has their difference meaning colour can depend under culture and circumstances. Colour can be understood by a few simple concepts such as the non-verbal communication and the meaning of the colour. Colour is a form of non-verbal communication, it is not a static energy and its meaning can change from one day to the next with any individual. Beside that it also depends on what energy they are expressing at that point in time. Each of the colours has a difference meaning for example blue colour. Blue is the colour of trust and peace, it can suggest loyalty and integrity as well as conservatism and frigidity.

Other than colour, light also play their role to make the image look attractive. A difference light source has a difference effect result. Light and color can influence how people perceive the area around them. Difference light sources effect how colors of walls and other objects are seen. There are 2 main source of color it is from sun and the other one from light bulbs. As you know, the light from the sun allows us to see things during the day as well as during the night when the sun's light reflect off the moon. The colored enters the eye through the pupil, goes through the lens, then reaches the back of the eye called retina on the retina there are a brunch to light sensors called rods and cones.

Light comes from different sources has a difference color. You may have seen photos taken under fluorescent lamps that have a sickly green color. Or maybe you've taken photos indoors at night with the lights on and everything looks orange. For instance, under florescent light, there is not enough blue light, which make your subject appeared greenish yellow. When blue is added the image is balance to a more normal appearance.

Other than that, a difference ways of light also can make a difference effect on the picture. If we see the shadow of the image also look difference if the source of light different. The shape of the shadow also will look different from the image. Besides that, the object under uniform light source will promote a better impression of three dimensional shapes. Object under a light source whose intensity varies with space are more difficult to determine than identify object under a uniform light source.

Besides that, the image that we  took under the sunlight sometime there is something that is not enough like the hue of colour and may be it will look to bright compare to the image that we took under the light bulb. If we took image from the sunlight we sometime we need to edit it to make it look nice with a suitable brightness and expose. Here the image that I took under the sunlight and edit it a little bit to make it look nice with the suitable brightness and shadow.

CONCLUSION
Difference source of light will produce a difference effect at the image.  When use the source of light from the light bulb the image will look brighter but it will not make the actual colour look clear but for the sunlight it will make the object look bright with neutrals colour. Other than that the image of will also look difference in difference time such as at the night the colour will not appear much compare in the day.
