Method of Investigation

Task 3 :

We are ask to choose one book from 10 book that we have choose from last task. The book that I choose is Architecture Design : Design For The Third Age : Architecture Define For A Generation of Active Agers' AD. The book Architectural Design : Designing for the Third Age : Architecture Redefined for a Generation of Active Agers AD by Farrelly, Lorraine in the chapter New aging : Designing Architecture for all age is about the need for the aged people. As a designer we should think and considered all the aged need and their comfortable because in the future generation of the older people will increase. This is the opportunities for the architect to get close with the aged and understand their need. This is also the sentence that I take from the book.

We thus asked ourselves: how can architecture, and our environment, create a positive impact for individuals and for communities? We discovered that a successful community needs to be multi-generational at its core. Older residents want to live near their more youthful counterparts. So, rather than focus on residents exclusively in the 65+ age bracket, our designs are intended to appeal to residents of all ages, including children. In this way, New Aging imaginatively embraces the philosophy of ‘ageing in place’, where the focus is on a rich and active life rather than on retirement and withdrawal. The natural liveliness that comes from a multinational community extends to an attitude of caring for all.
