INTERACTIVE DESIGN FOR WEB TECHNOLOGY

USER EXPERIENCE

User experience involves a person's attitudes and emotions about using a particular product, system or service. User experience includes the practical, experiential, effective, meaningful and valuable aspect of human, computer interaction and product. 

Other than that user experience includes all the user's emotions beliefs, performs, perceptions, physical and psychological responses, behavior and accomplishment that accouter before, during and after use. There is 3 factor that will influence the user experience like the system, user and the context of use.
Beside that user experience also all the aspect of 
  • How people use an interactive product 
  • The way it feels in their hands
  • How well they understand how it works 
  • how they feel about it while they using it
  • How well it serve their purpose 
  • How well it fits into the entire context in which they using it.
A graphical representation showing how all of these areas should be developed around the user to create a great user experience.

USER INTERACTION

User interaction design defines the structure and behavior of interactive product and service and user interactions with those products and service. Good interaction design effectively communicates a system's interactivity and functionality, defines behavior that communicate a system's responses to user interaction, reveals both simple and complex workflows, informs users about system state changes, and prevents user error.

Interaction design is grounded in an understanding of real user ( goals, tasks, experiences, needs and wants ) and balances these needs with business goal and and technological capabilities. Other than that user interaction is a process of designing what happen as a user move through a web application. User interaction also is how the user acts on the system and how the system acts on the user.  Some of the web will have the sound, image and also the video as the interaction to the user.

PRINCIPLES OF MARKETING

TRADEMARK

A trade mark is a sign that you can use to distinguish your business goods of services from those of other trades. A trade mark can be represent graphically in the form of your company's logo or a signature . Through a registered trademark, you can protect your brand by restricting other people from using its name or logo.

Once acquired a trademark can last indefinitely as long as you renew it every 10 years. Because a registered trade mark is a form of IP, you can license or assign it to other. It is difference with logo. Logo is a design symbolizing ones organization. It is a design that is used by an organization for its letterhead, advertising material, and signs as an emblem by which the organization can easily be recognize, also called logotype. Logotype is a graphic representation or symbol of a company name, trademark, abbreviation, etc., often uniquely designed for ready recognition.

To make a good logo we need to understand and know the 5 principle of logo

1. SIMPLE
A simple logo allows for easy recognition and allows the logo to be versatile and memorable. For example the logo for Nike it is very simple and easy to remember even without the name Nike the logo still can be easily recognize.




2. MEMORABLE
An effective logo should be memorable and this is achieved by having a simple yet appropriate logo. For example the logo for Channel it when people saw the logo they will know what it is.


3. TIMELESS
An effective logo should endure the best of time. The logo should be 'future proof' meaning that it should still be effective in 10, 20, 50+ years time for example the logo coca cola company it is recognizable until now.


4. VERSATILE 
An effective logo should be able to work across a variety of medium and application. another way to make a versatile logo is to begin designing in black and white. This allows you to focus on the concept and shape, rather than color, which is subjective in nature for example the logo of World Wildlife Fund.


5. APPROPRIATE 
How you position the logo should be appropriate for its intended audience. For example, a child-like font and color scheme would be appropriate for a logo for a children's toy.

3D CHARACTER AND ENVIRONMENT DESIGN FOR ANIMATION

GANTT CHART

Gantt chart is a horizontal bar chart that is used in a project management. It is one of most popular and useful ways of showing the activities display against times. In a Gantt chart we can see each of the activity that is represent by a bar. Other than that the position and length of the bar reflect the start date, duration, and the end date of the activities.

A Gantt chart provide a graphical illustration of a schedule that help to plan, coordinate, and track specific task in a project. Gantt chart can be a very simple version and also can be a complicated version depend on what project you want to make and the thing that you want to cover. Usually Gantt chart can be create using project management application such as Microsoft project or Excel.

This is my gantt chart for this module I need to follow my gantt chart to make sure that my project will running according to the planning. 



According to the gantt chart I need to do a research about the character and also the mascot.
CHARACTER ( PROCESS)

From the previous I do a mind map for the character that I want to design and I also have collect the icon and the item that I want to put in my character so this week I need to do the designing the character. This is my sketch of the character that I want to make:

According to my sketch my magnifying glass look like the mirror therefore I need to develop more on the structure of the magnifying glass before I start to develop my character. Therefor this is the sketch for the magnifying glass that I made to get the real structure of it.

After I get the real structure of my character now I need to develop my character on the eyes, mouth, hand and also the leg. In my mind map I choose the eyes and the mouth as the importance part in my character so I need to do it bigger to represent it is importance. This is my character look like :

I also make an experiment on the accessory for my character, but it look too old and not suitable for my project. I want to make my character look cute and cheerful but at the same time it also look professional therefor I choose the Picture 3 as my character.

this is how my character view from the side, front and back. I need to develop more on it. I also need to  do the experiment in color for my character. In picture 6 I have do one of the color experiment and I need to do more to find the suitable color and also the texture.

3D CHARACTER AND ENVIRONMENT DESIGN FOR ANIMATION

RESEARCH

According to my gantt chart I need to do a research about the mascot to gain the idea for designing my character. Therefor I make a research ho they big company like mac donald and KFC get their own mascot like for the KFC they get the mascot because their product was base on the chicken that is why they made the chicken as their mascot. other than that they use a difference icon for the logo of the company, they use the image of the colonel the owner of the company as a logo of the company. According to the research the reason they use the image of colonel because the recipe of the menu they sell in the restaurant was come originally from the colonel and he want it as a trade mark of the restaurant. 

Therefore I need to find the thing that related to my topic. Because I choose the topic about the food for my project therefore I need to make a research about the character for food. There is many kind of character that is relate to the food that I can make for example the food it self can be the character but it is too common I need to do something that is more relate to the game that I want to make and when people look at the character they will remember the game. 

In Mantin there is 3 races it is Malay, Chinese, and also India there for I want to make it look like 1 Malaysia and put all the icon that will represent all the races in one. Other than that, I also choose the icon of chef for the character because when we said about the food we can imagine the testier of the food but who make the food taste like that of cause it depend on who cook it that why I choose the icon of chef because people will know when they saw the character of the chef automatically they know it about the food. 

After I do a discussion with my lecture, I need to change my character because it will not suitable for my game because in my game the food that I want to put not only the food that is need to cook but also I put the food like the vegetable and also the fruits therefor it not suitable so I need to make another research about the character that I need to design and make it suitable for my project. 
CHARACTER (PROCESS)

In my research about the food I need to come  out with my character. I made the mind map about the food it will help me in finding my character.



From the mind map I find Out that from the food we can see the food hunter and in the food hunter there is many thing that relate to the word food hunter such as searching. A food hunter they need to search for food, they usually willing to travel anywhere to search for food. Other than words search I make an symbol for the words search like the magnifying glass because when we want to search something at the internet we can see the icon magnifying glass. Other than that I make the image of eye, why eye? This is because we also use our eyes to find something and to see something same goes to the food hunter they use their eyes to look at the place and to identify the food. we need to look and identify the food before we want to eat. sometime only look at the food we have a feeling want to try it event we does not know the taste.

Other than that the food hunter also we can find the words taste. what the food hunter use to taste the food of course they use mouth and also the tongue to taste the food. therefor I take the image of the mouth and the tongue as one of the item that I want to use in my character. Other than that I also use the scarf and put it on the neck of my character. why I use the scarf? this is because the food hunter will travel to many place to find the food that they want to try it, therefor it will make the character look more professional in searching the food.

Now I need to design the character base on the thing that I have found and foam a character that it will relate to the game and also the place that I chose it is Mantin.
